PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Communications Consultant services RPS mid-market clients according
to the contracts by providing communication strategies and programs to
meet client needs. In addition, this position assists in gaining new
clients for RPS by supporting the sales process and helps build
long-term relationships with RPS investors.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop communication plans and strategies for client initiatives on
an annual basis so that plan participants are aware of the products and
services that T. Rowe Price and the plan offer (such as increasing
participation rate in the plan, increase salary deferrals into the plan,
plan design changes).This includes, understanding the client needs, fact
finding with the client (to determine plan history, workforce
characteristics, etc.), developing an overall marketing plan, and
creating a plan for marketing materials (e.g., determining the target
audiences, timeframe, products that fit the client’s goals, costs
involved).
2. In conjunction with internal groups (e.g., relationship managers),
create presentation materials and present communication plan to client
in-person. Change the communication plan based on client feedback and
modify the plan ongoing as necessary.
3. Support sales initiatives in presenting communication services which
includes interfacing with the sales department, fact finding to
determine prospective client’s needs, creating presentations which focus
on prospective client’s interests and attending finals meetings along
with the sales associates for the prospective clients.
4. Coordinate with the New Business group to deliver quality
communication materials during plan conversions and ongoing service by
attending conversion meetings, obtaining plan specifications to create
enrollment materials, working with Account Executive, Production and
Fulfillment to ensure distribution timeframes are adhered to, and being
the conduit with the client.
5. Work with relationship managers and the Operations team to ensure
timely delivery of responses or materials for clients by researching
client requests (such as best practices used with other clients, how
communication plan design or fund changes, solutions to reach employees
who are constantly out of the office, samples of communications
developed for other similar clients) and providing the best possible
solutions for clients so that TRP maintains client confidence and
business.
QUALIFICATIONS
* College degree and one year of related work experience, or a minimum
of five years related work experience
* Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
* Proven ability to design and deliver presentations
* Uses sound judgment in business decisions
* Possesses strong negotiation skills
* Retirement industry knowledge
* A 4-year college degree in communication or marketing and 4 to 6 years
of marketing, advertising, and/or communication experience preferred.
